The mobile application will allow climbers to access information on safety, and way finding without a WiFi or cellular network connection. The user must choose and download his/her climbing locations and presets before a trip. Once this data is downloaded, it can be accessed at any time. Pressing the "Find Me" button on the home screen will allow the user to utilize the camera built into the mobile device. Once the viewing screen appears, the user will be able to point the camera at any rock formation (given the user downloads the location data beforehand) and a live route mapping system will initiate. The user will have the option of highlighting certain routes that he/she plans on climbing. If at any time the user is unsure of where they are while on a route, they can use the application to show them correct and accurate directions.
Before being allowed full use of this application, the user must pass a basic virtual safety test and checklist.
